Additional Options:

Monorail: $3.00 per person (20 person minimum). These tickets should be ordered with your admission tickets.

IMAX: Enhance your Zoo picnic with a visit to the IMAX Theater. Please call 952.431.9701 for special pricing.

Zoo Bucks: These special dollars can be used throughout the Zoo to enjoy the many different options we have to offer- including the Monorail, food service, and gift stores. All Zoo bucks are sold in $1 increments. They are a great way to add a little extra to your company picnic.

Scavenger hunt: Great team building or family activity. $5.00 per person

The Minnesota Zoo offers three beautiful, conveniently located picnic sites. These areas feature a pavilion or are tented, include restroom facilities, and can accommodate groups of 50 to several thousand.

Picnic Details: Size: 50 guest minimum. 

Season: Mid-May through September

Amenities: With your rental of a Minnesota Zoo picnic area, you receive:

• Planning assistance from Zoo and catering professionals
• Admission at our deepest discounted price
• Day-of event staff
• Personalized signage at the picnic area
• Picnic shelter and tables
• Grilled picnic fare by Lancer Catering

Rental Fee: $200.00 for shelter—non-refundable

Reservations: We offer three picnic times during Zoo hours:, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. or 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.(Lions Den & Puma picnic Area only). You may reserve the time that will work best for your group. Your group has Zoo admission for the entire day. A non-refundable rental fee is required within 10 business days after confirmation of your reservation to secure the site.

Catering: All of your catering needs are provided by our exclusive caterer, Lancer Catering.  Food and beverage may not be brought into the picnic sites or taken off-site.
