the spectacular sight of hundreds of North American butterflies at the end of the Tropics Trail.
The Aveda Butterfly Garden
features more than 40 different species of North American butterflies
and moths, fluttering in a beautiful environment that includes
a small stream and a diversity of plants. This interactive exhibit
demonstrates the butterfly life cycle, including stages as a
caterpillar, chrysalis or cocoon, and adult. Zoo staff and volunteers
will explain various butterfly "duties" including
pollination, mating, and egg-laying.
Hours: Open daily through September 1, from 10:00
a.m. – 5:00 p.m (weather permitting)

at the end of the Tropics Trail path
