Description: There may be as many as 8 subspecies, the
main differences being in size and shade of body coloring. Basic
body plumage is brownish-gray, with a long black neck and white
cheek patches that run from under the chin up both sides of the
head. Male and female have same coloring. Weights can range from
3.5-6 kg (8-13 lbs). Largest of the wild geese.
