Zebra Swallowtail
Eurytides marcellus

Habitat: Waterside woodland passageways, shrubby borders, meadows, riversides, lakeshores, marshes, absent in mountains.
Range: Lake States and Ontario, east to southern New England, south along Atlantic Ocean to central Florida and Gulf of Mexico, west to eastern Great Plains.
Facts: The Zebra Swallowtail has the longest “tails” projecting off its wings of all the common swallowtail butterflies. This butterfly is very common along the banks of the Potomac near Washington, D.C.
