Common Wood Nymph

Habitat: Prairies, old fields, pinewoods, bogs and open meadows.

Range: Southern Canada, throughout U.S. except Florida, southern Midwest, and southeast Texas.

Facts: Females of this species live much longer than the males laying their eggs in late summer to early fall.
