Habitat: Deserts, coasts, prairies, watercourses, open places with milkweed.

Range: Extreme southern U.S. into South American tropics.

Facts: Related to the Monarch, the Queen is another toxic species that the Viceroy mimics. The Queen cannot withstand cold winters and feeds almost exclusively on milkweed.
