Habitat: Anywhere from alpine summits to cities, habitats with milkweed, especially meadows and weedy fields.

Range: Nearly all of North America

Facts: Monarchs that emerge during late summer to early fall migrate to Mexico for the winter. They can store enough fat in their bodies to live all winter without feeding as long as they remain inactive.
