Mourning Cloak
Nymphalis antiopa

Habitat: Watercourses, sunny glades, forest borders, parks, gardens, open woods.

Range: North America to northern South America.

Facts: The Mourning Cloak can live up to 10 months and hibernate over the winter in its adult form. When approached by a predator, the Mourning Cloak can emit an audible “click” when it flies away.
