Habitat: Clearings in edges of thickets, groves, forests, watercourses, moist open woods.

Range: Southeastern Canada through eastern U.S. to southern Gulf coast.

Facts: The Comma is named for a silver comma-shaped marking on its hindwings. The Comma is also known as the “Hop Merchant” because the variance of the gold to silver markings on its pupae used to help forecast hop prices for farmers.
